Hello there

My Name is Pijai and this is a glimpse of story about how my KKN was

As a member of the KKN (Community Service) team at my university, I had the opportunity to spend three months in Desa Bolihutuo, a small village located in Kabupaten Boalemo, working on a project to prevent stunting among children.

One of the main activities we focused on was Pertemuan Peningkatan Kemampuan Keluarga (P2K2), or Family Empowerment Meetings. These meetings were held weekly with local families in the village, and aimed to provide them with knowledge and skills on how to properly care for their children in order to prevent stunting.

Stunting is a serious issue in many parts of Indonesia, with more than one in four children under the age of five suffering from it. It occurs when children do not receive proper nutrition, leading to physical and cognitive delays that can have lifelong consequences.

During the P2K2 meetings, we covered topics such as proper nutrition for children, hygiene practices, and the importance of vaccination. We also provided practical demonstrations, such as how to prepare nutritious meals on a budget, and gave out informational materials for the families to take home.

One moment that really stood out to me during these meetings was when a mother approached me after a session and told me how much the information had helped her. She shared that she had always struggled to provide her children with enough food, but now felt empowered with the knowledge and skills to make better choices for their nutrition. It was a small but meaningful moment that showed the impact of our work.

Overall, the KKN experience in Desa Bolihutuo was a rewarding and eye-opening one. It was heartening to see the positive changes in the families and children we worked with, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the efforts to prevent stunting in the community.
