The Faculty of economics which has a vision "to create a supervior and competitive faculty of economics in the field of teaching, research and service in the field of economics"  Which was formed based on the decree of the rector of the Gorontalo State University Number: 282/H47.A2/OT/2009 dated 17 march 2009 as the eight faculty within Gorontalo State University. This faculty is expected to play a role in developing and coaching on a sustainable development of the quality of human resources in Indonesia in general, especially in the province of Gorontalo. Led in FE-UNG there are several stages and the rapid time that is as follow:

• 1979-1982 Majoring in general economics, IKIP Manado Branch Gorontalo
• 1982-1984 Majoring in general economics, FKIP Unsrat Manado in Gorontalo
• 1984-1987 Cooperative education study program and office Administrasion education study program in PIPS FKIP Unsrat Manado in Gorontalo
• 1987-1993 Business world education study program in the major PIPS FKIP Unsrat Manado in Gorontalo
• 1993-2001 Economic education study program in PIPS STKIP Gorontalo
• 2001-2004 Economi education study program in PIPS IKIP Negeri Gorontalo
• 2004-2009 Majoring in education and management, faculty of social sciences in Gorontalo State University
• And March 17,2009 the faculty of economics was based on the decision of the rector of the Gorontalo state university
